Biography
Born in 1918 Keith was a successful road and track racing cyclist. He was the inaugural recipient of the Dr. Paul Dudley White Award in 1977. This award is the top honor bestowed by the League of American Wheelmen.
Positions held by Keith include: member of the Board of USCF; USCF Treasurer; member of the USOC; member of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness; founder of the Illinois Cycling Association; and chairman of the 1959 Pan American Games in Chicago.
Keith built bicycles, managed teams, started a successful school for certified bicycle mechanics and promoted bicycling across the country. He served as the Cycling Activities Director for the Schwinn Bicycle Company. Keith Kingbay continued riding throughout his life and passed away in 1995.
